Be Cautious in Long Grass & maybe carry a stick when walking.

The most dangerous snake in Greece is the Ohia snake, pictured above.

It is also referred to as the Adder snake and is classed as a venomous viper.

This is the only venomous snake in Greece.

Bites from this venomous snake are rare, and the venom is not usually potent enough to cause death.

What to do if bitten by the Ohia Snake

1. Move the person beyond striking distance of the snake.

2. Have the person lie down with wound below the heart.

3. Keep the person calm and at rest, remaining as still as possible to keep venom from spreading.

4. Cover the wound with loose, sterile bandage.
