Precautions to take during an Earthquake

Although quite rare in Greece, they do get a few very light tremors.

To be safe its good to know the Precautions.

All Buildings in Greece are Earthquake Proof.

Don't Run Outside

You are much safer to stay inside during an Earthquake.

Trying to run in an earthquake is dangerous, as the ground is moving and you can easily fall or be injured by debris or glass.

Running outside is especially dangerous, as glass, bricks, or other building components may be falling.

DROP to the ground; take COVER by getting under a sturdy table or other piece of furniture; and HOLD ON until the shaking stops.

Under doorway beams is one of the safest places inside.

Stay away from glass, windows, outside doors and walls, and anything that could fall, such as lighting fixtures or furniture.

Don't hide under the bed, the small space will be even smaller if the ceiling collapses.

Keep away from stairs.
